Al graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. Following his graduation in 1992, Al joined the Detroit office of Arthur Andersen, performing financial statement audits on a variety of clients including a large utility company, several automotive suppliers and a professional sports team. After two years, Al left public accounting, relocating to Big Sky, Montana.
Al joined the accounting department at Big Sky Resort in 1994, and was promoted to the role of Controller in 1996. Al left the resort in 1999 and joined Gallatin Associates, Inc. in 2000.
Al has served on numerous boards in the Big Sky community, including terms with the Big Sky Resort Area District and the Big Sky Community Organization; Al was chosen by his peers to chair both of those boards.
Al also has a passion for the lessons learned from team sports, and has coached numerous teams including serving as a basketball coach at Ophir and Lone Peak High School for over 20 years.
